I purchased this enclosure for an extra PATA hard drive I accidentally ended up with. It works fine and I haven't had too much problem with it. I use it as a picture backup in case my other sources go haywire. Starts right up, has plenty of power to run on just on cable (even though it has two in case your laptop limits the power via usb. Assembly wasn't super easy, but for the price, I think I can say it exceeds my expectations.
